Jeremy Westlake has been appointed new Chief Executive of Network Rail, replacing Sir Andrew Haines, who will be retiring.
Westlake, who is currently Chief Financial Officer, will formally take up the role in October. He will oversee the amalgamation of Network Rail with Great British Railways.
Posting on LinkedIn, Andrew Haines said: “After seven brilliant years, it will soon be time to hand over the reins – and I’m genuinely delighted that Jeremy Westlake will be taking over as new chief executive when I step down in October.
“Jeremy brings a huge amount of experience from across transport and engineering, both in the UK and internationally. He’s a natural collaborator, with a real focus on working across the industry and with the supply chain to keep driving improvement. That mindset will be vital as the railway continues its journey towards Great British Railways.”
Network Rail has appointed Paul Marshall as Chief Financial Officer. Marshall is currently Group Finance Director.
