Parking charges increase turnover of spaces Harpenden and St Albans

New parking charges are seeing a higher turnover of bays in two Hertfordshire towns.

The charges were introduced in Harpenden and St Albans during to encourage broader use of the parking slots.

St Albans City and District Council reports that an average 1,150 motorists a day are parking at on-street parking bays in Harpenden following the introduction of charges.

Data suggests a high turnover of spaces with each of the 243 bays being used almost five times a day.
