The Tyne Tunnels for pedestrians and cyc lists are to be kept open 24 hours a day this year following a successful trial last month. The two tunnels, one for cyclists, one for pedestrians, were reopened in 2019 after a six-year closure for refurbishment. Their opening hours were extended to 06.00 to 22.00 last March.
