Stagecoach was forced to set up a special booking hotline for commuters last week after its experimental Edinburgh-Fife hovercraft service was mobbed by day trippers.
Demand has exceeded all expectations with more than 16,000 passengers using the ‘Forthfast’ service in the first week of its two-week trial period. A number of additional non timetabled trips have been made.
