An aspiring social enterprise open access train operator has withdrawn its application to run a passenger service in southwest England.
GO-OP Cooperative Ltd applied to the Office of Rail and Road this summer to operate a service from either Cheltenham or Newport over a core route of Swindon-Chippenham-Melksham-Trowbridge-Westbury-
Frome-Bruton-Castle Cary and then on to either Gillingham, Exeter, or Dorchester.
Services would have operated no more than every two hours.
