The DfT’s announcement of more bus funding and a national bus strategy is yet another scattergun of unrelated measures to which little thought has been given in the rush to make some political points (‘National bus strategy pledges extra £200m for local services’ LTT 11 Oct). They cannot even add up – the headline figure is £220m yet the commitments add up to only £140m.
There has been no consultation with operators or even local authorities to consider...
