Electric cars sales boom but are still regarded by some as “disappointing”

When it comes to the UK driving public’s acceptance of electric cars, the glass is either half full or half empty, depending on which paper you choose to read.

Sales of electrically-powered cars in the UK are either booming or disappointing in 2019, depending on which paper you read. The Guardian, on 5 September, for example, noted that: “The Tesla Model 3 has rapidly become the UK’s third most popular new car as sales of electric vehicles overall doubled in the past year.

“New owners registered 2,082 Tesla Model 3 cars in August, according to data published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT),” the paper...
