Transport academic arrested at protest

A University of West of England transport academic has been charged with two public order offences after being arrested during Extinction Rebellion’s climate change protests in central London.

Steve Melia, a senior lecturer in UWE’s Centre for Transport and Society, is one of more than 1,100 people to have been arrested during demonstrations that included blocking main roads in central London for days.
