Labour backs new Brighton railway

A labour Government would build new stretches of railway to relieve the London-Brighton main line, according to the party’s manifesto for the General Election. 

The commitment is one of the late changes made during drafting of the manifesto. The final document was published last week, just days after a draft version had been leaked to the BBC (LTT 12 May and see panel).
