Highways England has released more details of plans to upgrade the A1 north of Newcastle.
The Government announced a £290m improvement to the road in autumn 2014. This features 13 miles of dual carriageway to complete the dualling from Newcastle to Ellingham, and more limited improvements to the road north of Ellingham, including overtaking lanes in three places and four junction improvements.
HE is consulting stakeholders on the proposed designs.
