The City of York Council is planning to appoint a private sector partner to bring more innovation to the city’s off-street car parking management and boost the city centre economy.
The Conservative-controlled city council manages 13 off-street car parks with 2,500 spaces in the city centre. The council also operates 5,000 car park spaces in the six park-and-ride sites around the city but these would not be included in the proposed partnering arrangement.
