Bus operators are not legally required to make passengers give way to wheelchair users, the Court of Appeal has ruled.
Wheelchair user Doug Paulley was denied access to a FirstGroup bus when a woman refused to move her pushchair out of the wheelchair space. At Leeds County Court in September FirstGroup was found to be in breach of the Equality Act 2010, and Paulley was awarded £5,500 damages.
