Westminster City Council has pledged to refund over 5,000 parking fines after admitting that signage on three streets was confusing for motorists
The signs, erected more than two years ago, stated that parking charges applied between 8.30am and 6.30pm, but implied that bays were free between 6.30pm and 8.30am. However, the dual use bays actually became dedicated taxi ranks during off-peak hours.
