Construction Firm Kier has been given until the end of next week to decide whether to make a rival bid to Costain’s for support services firm May Gurney.
The board of May Gurney said that Costain’s offer, which valued May Gurney at 252p a share or £177m in total, would be considered by May Gurney’s shareholders on 7 May.
