Councils banned from accessing nuisance car data

The DVLA has imposed data suspensions on almost 300 councils and other public bodies relating to nuisance or abandoned vehicles since 2009. This was due to poor administration such as not responding to letters from the agency or not returning contracts in time.

During the same three-year period 38 organisations, including Camden, Southwark and Brighton & Hove, have had data access links terminated.
