Local authorities across England were celebrating this week after transport secretary Justine Greening announced funding of £584m for a further 20 local major transport schemes.
The announcement, coming on top of Chancellor George Osborne’s confirmation of support for 21 schemes earlier this month (LTT 2 Dec), means that all but four of the 45 projects in the DfT’s development pool now have Government support.
