Three facts about the funding divide

1. Londoners get much more spent on their transport.

The latest expenditure figures for 2008/09 show, spending per head on transport is considerably higher in London than in the North of England. A total of £641 is spent on transport for every Londoner, around two and a half times the spending per head on transport in the North. The North West gets £287 per head while the Yorkshire & Humber region gets £248 per head. The North East gets just £234 per head.
