May Gurney is expecting its local authority road maintenance contracts to be hit by a 10% reduction in spending this year.
The company is the first major road maintenance service provider to publicly make a market prediction on the impact the public spending squeeze will have on its contracts. It maintains 37,000km of local authority roads for eight councils and 10 London Boroughs making it the largest company in the sector.
