Yellow school buses are as American as apple pie but they might not be so sweet. Whilst it is true that they account for half of all school journeys in the United States they certainly haven’t solved the school run – just 12% of children walk to school (52% in the UK) and car use is higher. What is more, America’s youngsters are the

most obese in the world.

As we struggle with our own obesity epidemic, should we not look to our continental neighbours and invest in more...
