Oldham CCTV car patrols schools

A CCTV car has started patrolling schools in Oldham in a bid to tackle disruptive parking. Oldham Council said the Toyota IQ car cost £8,500 while the IT package cost about £50,000, funded by pay & display revenue. The car is fitted with Mouchel’s Traffic Support system. Offenders filmed by the car during the first two weeks of operation in early November were sent warning notices rather than fines. The notices inform drivers they have parked illegally.
