Men are 6.4% more likely than women to pass their practical driving test, according to research by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM). But while young males are more likely to pass their driving test, they are almost three times more likely to be killed or seriously injured (KSI) behind the wheel, the road safety charity said.
The findings are a result of the analysis of pass rate statistics from the Department for Transport published in August for 2011-2012.
