Lib Dem motion calls for 20mph roll-out

A plan to extend 20mph speed limits across most residential roads in England within ten years will be considered at the Liberal Democrat conference later in September.

A conference motion says the government should give councils financial support to reduce speed limits from 30mph and that a transport minister should be “put in charge of the national conversion to 20mph limits in residential areas and report at least annually”.
