Operation combats metal theft epidemic

A raid on a scrap metal dealer's yard by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has uncovered a haul of items worth thousands of pounds.

The haul includes hundreds of memorial plaques from churches and crematoriums, a bronze statue of Christ, a giant ornamental Oriental dragon statue and copper cabling.
