An increase in road deaths in Northamptonshire has led to calls for the speed cameras in the county to be switched back on. So far this year 16 people have died on the county’s roads. At the same time last year there had been just three deaths on the county’s roads.
About 40 speed cameras were switched off when the Casualty Reduction Partnership, which had operated Northamptonshire’s cameras, was dissolved in March 2011 when funding was withdrawn by the county council...
