Brighton & Hove’s CCTV control centre plays a key role in keeping traffic moving on the city’s streets. Since 2008 the council has used the city’s cameras to enforce bus lane contraventions. In the first year of operation 5,702 PCNs were issued, which has risen to more than 8,000 this year.
