Charity workers who ask people to sign up and give cash are to face restrictions in Wolverhampton. Paul Uppal, the Conservative MP for Wolverhampton South West, claimed hundreds of people he had surveyed had said that they were put off by street fundraisers.

“If you could specify one reason that put people off shopping in Wolverhampton, chuggers came out top. Parking was number two on the list,” said Uppal.
