Drivers claim ‘exceptional hardship’ to avoid being disqualified

 

More than 10,000 drivers with at least 12 points on their licence are still driving rather than being banned, a survey has shown. The statistics come from data supplied by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). The figures, compiled by road safety charity Brake and vehicle insurer Direct Line, reveal there are 10,072 drivers with at least 12 points who have not been banned.
