Lancashire police targets rogue scrap merchants

Lancashire Police are targeting metal thieves in the county after more than £1m worth of materials were stolen during the first six months of the year. The initiative, called Operation Starling, will involve officers visiting scrapyards and carrying out roadside stop-checks of vehicles believed to be carrying metal.
