Ealing’s bus lane CCTV system is identifying significantly more offenders than previously. The unattended system has proved so efficient that it has covered its start-up costs in just over four months, writes Barry Francis

The Ealing bus lane enforcement control room

The London Borough of Ealing implemented a new unattended bus lane enforcement system in June. The council has deployed 10 of Zenco’s unattended LaneWatch camera units at various bus lanes and decriminalised moving traffic enforcement sites around the borough to help tackle persistent non-compliance with traffic regulations.

The system has proven to be an efficient way in which to enforce these regulations with the aim of increasing compliance and improving traffic flow.
