Hackney’s debt recovery contract has improved customer care while also boosting returns, writes Seamus Adams

The bailiff contract introduced by  Hackney’s parking services increased collections by 73% in 2010/11 compared with 2009/10. The contract promotes fairness and transparency in debt collection charges for motorists. It also develops a stronger relationship between the council and its contractors, in a bid to increase debt recovery.
