A fair deal for councils, a fair deal for bailiffs?

During his talk at the Enforcement Summit, Harrow council’s Fern Silverio mentioned that his authority takes a cut of bailiff fees. After the event he told me that this will be formalised when the London borough’s debt recovery contract comes up for re-tender early next year. A clause in the contract will require bailiff partners to pay the council up to 10% of their fees.
