The number of fixed penalty notices for speeding in Oxfordshire more than doubled in the first month that speed cameras were back in operation after being switched off eight months ago (ENF20).
Funding of £600,000 was withdrawn for 72 fixed cameras and 89 mobile sites across the county last August, as part of cuts prompted by the government’s comprehensive spending review. But the cameras were reactivated on 1 April.
