DfT scraps road safety targets but promises new speed policy tools

The use of road safety targets should be scrapped as they risk skewing investment priorities, the Department for Transport (DfT) has announced. Its position is explained in the new Strategic framework for road safety launched by transport secretary Philip Hammond.
