Residents get speed guns to enforce their streets

A scheme to stop speeding drivers is to be rolled out across Reading after a pilot scheme in East Tilehurst area was heralded a success.

Residents in Tilehurst East were given access to five police speed guns under the Speedwatch scheme. Thames Valley Police said that around 150 drivers were reported for exceeding the speed limit and were sent a letter from the neighbourhood police team, explaining that speeding is unacceptable to the local community.
