Trees and hedges are being planted on rural roads in Norfolk as a traffic calming measure. About 200 trees have been planted on the approach roads to four villages. At three of the villages — Mundesley, Overstrand and Horstead — an “avenue effect” has been created to limit drivers’ peripheral vision causing them to slow down, according to Norfolk County Council.
