Pedal patrols hit streets of London

With an average of 63 bikes stolen in London each day, the new Cycle Task Force will be kept busy, writes Patrick McDonnell

London's new Police Cycle Task Force (CTF) has made 36 arrests along with the security marking of more than 4,000 cycles across the capital since its launch in June.

The CTF is part of the Metropolitan Police Service’s Safer Transport Command (STC), with the primary funding of £90m per year supplied by Transport for London (TfL).
