Hordes of pedicabs touting for business have become a familiar sight in London’s West End. On the surface these brightly coloured three-wheelers seem like a fun and environmentally-friendly way of making a short journey through the capital’s busy centre.

But many of these pedicabs, also known as rickshaws, pose a serious risk to their passengers, other road users and pedestrians, warns Westminster City Council.
