Police in Richmond-upon-Thames are using shock tactics to warn motorists of the dangers of leaving their parked cars unlocked — by breaking into them and taking the valuables.
Undercover officers replace the valuables with a note telling vehicle owners which police station their possessions can be retrieved from. Items left in unsecured vehicles have included sat-navs, in-car entertainment systems and lap-top computers.
