As parking managers we have to comply with well over 1,000 pages of legislation, which is ridiculous in my view. This paper mountain includes the Road Traffic Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA), the statutory guidance to both, and the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002.

This list illustrates just how prescriptive a system we have. It is not customer friendly and certainly is not efficient.
