Clamper guilty of operating illegally

A wheel clamper was given a 12-month community punishment order with 200 hours of unpaid work after being found guilty of 20 counts of fraud. Another 65 other offences were taken into consideration for illegally clamping vehicles.

Iain Watson, from Crewe, was also ordered to pay back the money to motorists he clamped, which amounted to over £8,000, by Chester Crown Court. He was arrested in September 2007 after a witness, who had been clamped, checked the Security Industry’s (SIA)...
