Portsmouth purge on untaxed vehicles

More than 500 untaxed vehicles have been removed from Portsmouth’s streets in the past two years. The city council’s parking service has powers from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency to remove untaxed vehicles.

Officers track the vehicles using intelligence and tip-offs, including calls from neighbours fed up with parking spaces being taken by illegal cars.
