
Drivers in Sunderland have been asked to be vigilant after fake QR codes were found on parking machines.
The scam involves QR stickers that direct people to websites that enable tricksters to gather banking details.
Sunderland City Council said it had removed a total of 27 fraudulent codes at Sheepfolds, Kayll Road, Tunstall Terrace, Farringdon Way, Waterworks Road and Johnson Street.
