Plans to re-open the Gobowen-Oswestry branch line in Shropshire have been shelved after Rail Minister Lord Hendy said funding for the plan would not be available.
In a letter to the LibDem North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan, Lord Hendy said: “I am sorry to advise that it has not been possible to progress the development of the Oswestry to Gobowen line.”
