The total distance travelled by cars, vans, and taxis in Great Britain has increased, reaching 688bn passenger kilometres last year, but this is still around 1% lower than post-Covid levels in 2019, new data from DfT shows.

In 2020, the distance travelled by cars, vans and taxis decreased by 28% compared with 2019 as a result of the onset of the pandemic and associated restrictions on travel. There has been a gradual recovering in the number of trips since then, though they are still 10bn...
