Eurostar signs deal to bring double-decker train service to the UK

Eurostar is set to boost its cross-channel fleet with up to 50 double-decker trains in a €2bn (£1.74bn) deal with manufacture Alstom Group.

The train operator has ordered 30 Celestia trains, with the option for 20 more. The 200-metre trains have around 540 seats, which will be 20% higher compared with the existing trains, subject to final design specifications, it added.
