The number of penalties issued to drivers misusing disabled parking bays Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole has increased by 91% in the last five years.
Data from a Freedom of Information (FOI) request showed a total of 24,837 were issued in in the area since 2019.
A total of 5,632 issued in 2024 to drivers who parked in disabled bays without a Blue Badge. In total 4,438 fines were issued for misuse of on-street disabled parking, and 1,194 for off-street misuse.
