The government has set out its ambition to roll out thousands more local chargepoints across England.  

Future of road minister Lilian Greenwood says that government and industry are expected to install over 100,000 local chargepoints in the coming years. The aim is to make charging easier for drivers without access to off-street parking. 

These new units will be in addition to the 80,000 public chargepoints already available in the UK.
