Vandalised payment machines will not be replaced

Parking payment machines that were damaged in a Yorkshire beauty spot will not be replaced by Leeds City Council.

Charges were introduced at Golden Acre Park, Otley Chevin, Roundhay Park, Temple Newsam and Middleton Park in February.

Parking costs £4 for the day or £80 for a year's season ticket.

Attacks on the machines started just hours before charges came in. 

The council has decided not to replace the devices. Instead drivers will need to use the PayByPhone app.
