Bristol looking to create van-dwelling site

Bristol City Council is planning to create a specific area for van-dwelling people who are currently encamped on a local beauty spot.

Rising rents in the city means the number of people choosing to live in vans across the city up from 150 in 2020 to 680 in 2025.

Around 60 caravans and vans are currently parked around Durdham Down in the Clifton area.

However, residents are reporting problems with litter and human waste appearing at the beauty spot.
