Greater Manchester extends clean air deadline for meeting legal limits by a year

Greater Manchester has revised its charge-free clean air strategy, extending the deadline for meeting legal air quality limits from 2025 to 2026. The new plan reaffirms the aim of improving air quality without charging the owners of polluting vehicles. This “investment-led” approach would improve air quality without causing hardship to residents or businesses”, said Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM).
